Operation Christmas Child kicks off
1. Find a standard-sized shoe box or a small plastic storage container with a lid.2. Determine if the gift will be for a boy or girl, and choose the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. Adhere a completed label to the top of the box. Labels are available online .
3. Fill the box with gifts. Suggestions include school supplies, toys, hygiene items, candy, standard-sized clothing and a personal note. A complete list of suggestions in available on the Samaritan’s Purse Web site. Do not include breakable items, medications, liquids, chocolate or war-related items.
4. Include a $7 donation per box to cover shipping costs. You also can donate online at www.samaritanspurse.org/ezgive and track the destination of the box.
5. Place a rubber band around each closed box and drop it off between Nov. 16 and 23 at:
• Front Range Christian Fellowship, 10667 Parkridge Ave. in Longmont
• Boulder Calvary Bible Church, 3245 Kalmia Ave. in Boulder.

That said, I learned to knit almost entirely from www.knittinghelp.com - It's free and it has videos for each item or technique that you could ever want to learn. I am a very visual learner, so for me it was perfect. Most shops will be lessons son. Mind's Eye is probably the closest to Davis Square. It's great that you want to learn to knit, and I hope you enjoy.
