KINGSTON – Soul Sister Foundation is committed to raising money and promoting awareness for ovarian cancer as well as for the community. Soul Sister Foundation is hosting their second annual 5K Turkey Trot, at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, beginning at the Hilltop Athletic Club, Pottle Street, Kingston. Interested participants can register through the Web site, www.soulsisterfoundation.com or through www.active.com. All proceeds support Ovarian Cancer Research and two local charities – the Kingston Council on Aging and Pilgrim’s Hope Shelter. Register by Saturday, Nov. 14 to receive a T-shirt and cool gear hydration bottle. The cost for the 5K run is $25. The cost for the kids under 12, 50-yard mad dash is $10. After school art course
KINGSTON – The Mayflower Congregational Church will host an eight-week art course Tuesday afternoons through November at the Briggs Memorial Building, 207 Main St., for students in grades 3 through 6. “Clay, Creatures and Kingdoms” is described as a “God-centered, three-dimensional art program for boys and girls.” Taught by Rosa Whitehill, a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City, the classes are designed to spark children’s imaginations as they create three-dimensional art using wire, clay, paper mache and recyclables. Students will meet for weekly from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays. The fee is $10 per session, which includes all art supplies. Register online at www.artinheaven.org. Outdoor-Christmas Lighting can really add some spice to your holiday decorating Christmas. Many people focus on decorating the inside of their houses or apartments. However, another group has extended these decorations outside. For them, the sky is the limit when it comes to Christmas decorations outside.
When you drive by the existing houses that have outdoor decorations, you will notice that these awards are divided into four main categories:

These easy, quick fix decorations apparently did not take much effort. Just follow these simple instructions and you'll also have an attractive display:

Inspect each string of lights for any broken or frayed son. If any are discovered, discard them and get new channels. Do not try to repair them. While describing the roof of your house or garage with lights, be sure to use a sturdy ladder on an equal footing. Use an assistant to stabilize the ladder if necessary. Hang the lights using appropriate hangers to prevent short circuits.Ensure that the lights are installed away from combustible materials.
